Language: Cantonese, Mandarin, English
Type of Service: Counsellor
Mode of Service: Online Video Call

Mr. Tang is a Registered Counselling Psychologist and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist with many years of clinical experience. He specializes in long-term psychoanalytic psychotherapy—a therapeutic approach that goes beyond surface-level symptom relief to explore the deeper emotional and psychological roots of a person’s distress.
In psychoanalytic psychotherapy, the focus is on helping individuals better understand the unconscious patterns that influence their thoughts, emotions, and relationships. Through regular and consistent sessions, clients are offered a stable and confidential space to explore unresolved inner conflicts, early life experiences, and the emotional impact of relationships—past and present. Over time, this in-depth process can bring lasting changes in how one relates to oneself and others, promoting emotional healing, personal growth, and a greater sense of freedom and self-acceptance.
Mr. Tang is particularly attuned to the unique emotional and psychological struggles that many Hong Kong individuals face—such as difficulty expressing emotions, a strong sense of responsibility toward family, high achievement pressure, internal conflicts around self-worth, and deep feelings of loneliness or emptiness. These issues are often shaped by family dynamics, cultural expectations, and early developmental experiences. Psychoanalytic psychotherapy can be especially helpful for individuals who feel stuck, misunderstood, or overwhelmed by longstanding emotional patterns that don’t seem to improve with short-term approaches.
Now based in Vancouver, Canada, Mr. Tang currently provides online therapy only, offering professional psychological support to clients in Hong Kong and globally. His services are ideal for those who value depth-oriented therapy and prefer the privacy and convenience of online sessions.
